At First Coast Surrogates, we ensure a swift, easy, and personal process of connecting intended parents with qualified surrogates. Through screening processes and getting to meet our surrogates, the journey to pregnancy and the start of the family is all under control.
You will meet with an attorney who will assist you with signing on and getting the matching process started. You will begin with providing the following:
Once this has been established, you will sign the agreement for the services to begin.
Once the agreement for services has been signed and finalized, you will begin the process of getting profiles of our available surrogates. The timeline of matching with a surrogate varies due to many different reasons. We monitor and carefully provide surrogates to you who are closely matched to what you expect in your surrogate.
You will get the chance to have a video "meet and greet" with the surrogate to see if what matches on paper, matches in person. This gives both you and the surrogate a personal touch to what is a very important step in the journey.
Once matched, you and the surrogate will move onto the next step in the matching process.
Now that you have matched and met your surrogate and all parties agree, you will then meet with the attorney again who will draft the Gestational Agreement, varies by state, to begin the process of surrogacy.
The attorney will work with both sides, starting with the intended parents, to ensure all details and expectations are listed in the agreement. This process can take some time to ensure all requirements/expectations are met and agreed upon.
This is another important step in the process. The fertility center that you and the surrogate choose will then begin the screening process before the surrogate begins pregnancy.
The surrogate will go through tests and medications to make sure everything is in proper shape prior to the pregnancy. This steps makes sure the medical facility clears the surrogate for the next steps.
Once a positive test has been produced, you begin the countdown of starting your family. The surrogate will go through the steps that a normal pregnancy will require while informing you and keeping you in the loop throughout. This is your journey too!
During this time, your attorney will begin the legal process of establishing parentage rights and preparing all documents needed for the birth certificate (varies by state).
This is also a great time to begin preparing to bring your little one home. Many intended parents begin nursery projects, outfit changes and the like!
Now that the 9 months has passed and the baby is born, your journey has reached the final steps towards the finish line. You will be able to take your little one home while your attorney finalizes the legal documents that will list your names on the baby's birth certificates upon finalizing.
We at First Coast Surrogates will keep in touch over the weeks after the birth to make sure you have all you need and that you are happily beginning the early days parenthood!
